In line with its ongoing commitment to advancing community awareness and promoting preventive education, the Dr. Manal Fakeeh Scientific Chair at Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the University of Jeddah and under the umbrella of the Jeddah Governorate through the “Let’s Initiate” program, successfully organized a specialized workshop titled “Student Counselor” on Monday, May 4, 2026. The workshop was held at the Conference Center of the University of Jeddah and witnessed the attendance of more than 300 participants.

The workshop brought together student counselors, educators, and specialists with the aim of strengthening the role of school-based counseling in addressing emerging behavioral challenges. It focused on enhancing counselors’ competencies in the early detection of substance abuse among students, while equipping them with practical tools and evidence-based strategies for effective intervention and prevention.

Through a series of interactive sessions and expert-led discussions, participants explored best practices in student support, early warning indicators, and structured counseling approaches. The workshop also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions and community stakeholders in fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
