Program overview

The Master of Science in Blood Transfusion and Blood Banking will qualify students with the required skills and clinical training to succeed in their endeavors to deliver healthcare within the Kingdom and beyond. The program aims to prepare future leaders in blood transfusion and blood banking services, who provide safe and outstanding services to patients. Students will be competent in adding optimal knowledge of blood transfusion practice through research and scholarly activities. These graduates will be able to provide high standard and holistic transfusion services in blood transfusion and blood banking specialties, as well as in relevant education and research.

The MSc in Blood Transfusion & Blood Banking program uses variety of assessment methods including direct and indirect assessment as the following:

Written assessments include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Multiple choice questions (MCQs; A-type questions with one best answer)
  • Essay type questions.
  • Projects (in each course)

Clinical assessments include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Portfolio included case-based discussion, assignments, and students prepared presentations, and professional code of conduct.
