Dear Respected Students and Esteemed Faculty,

As we inaugurate the 2025-2026 academic year, it is with immense pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences (FCMS) in our beloved country. This moment marks the commencement of a new academic cycle, reaffirming our unwavering dedication to excellence in medical education, scientific inquiry, innovation, and community service. I am eager to share our accomplishments and the promising initiatives on the horizon.

Our resolve to provide exceptional educational experiences is steadfast. Last academic year (2024-2025), we ensured that our curricula across various programs at FCMS remain innovative and responsive to the dynamic healthcare landscape. At the heart of our educational philosophy is a student-centered, integrated approach that promotes deep engagement with course material, early clinical exposure, and the cultivation of critical thinking, essential and soft skills for your future careers. A significant highlight is the establishment of our state-of-the-art Clinical Skills and Simulation Center (CSSC). This facility, equipped with cutting-edge technologies, immerses you in realistic clinical scenarios, enhancing your preparedness for the complexities of patient care. It embodies our commitment to experiential learning, providing a secure environment for skill development and clinical training.

Simultaneously, FCMS has excelled in scientific research and innovation. Faculty staff members and students have engaged in groundbreaking research, making significant contributions to medical knowledge. The past year has seen a remarkable increase in research output, with notable publications and substantial funding secured for projects addressing critical health challenges, such as diabetes and its complications. Our research agenda prioritizes translational science, connecting laboratory discoveries with clinical applications, in alignment with the College's mission and the priorities of the Fakeeh Care Group, which resonate with national research and innovation goals and priorities.

Community engagement remains fundamental to our mission at FCMS. Over the past year, both students and faculty staff members have actively participated in health initiatives within our communities. Your contributions—ranging from health screenings to educational workshops and awareness campaigns—have made a substantial impact on health disparities and promoted wellness. Additionally, we have embraced sustainable development goals (SDGs) with positive outcomes. Our strengthened partnerships with local academic and healthcare organizations ensure that our initiatives address community needs, enhancing your educational experience while providing meaningful opportunities to apply your knowledge in real-world settings.

FCMS's vision extends globally as we cultivate collaborations that enhance our educational and research initiatives. Strategic partnerships with esteemed international institutions, such as Dundee University (UK), Queen's University (UK), and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, have facilitated exchange programs and joint postgraduate training opportunities, enriching academic and cultural perspectives while preparing students for diverse healthcare systems.

I am excited to announce the launch of new programs, including a BSc in Respiratory Care and an MSc in Nursing Administration, alongside a four-year BSc in Nursing (1+3) program. These initiatives will enhance your training in alignment with the evolving healthcare sector. To support these programs, we are expanding our clinical training facilities to accommodate over 2,500 beds, ensuring comprehensive hands-on training. Furthermore, we will continue to integrate advanced and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, into our learning environment, equipping you for success in a digital world.

As we conclude FCMS's Third Strategic Plan (2021-2025), we reflect on our many accomplishments. Now, we embark on our Fourth Strategic Plan for 2026-2030, aligned with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance healthcare quality and foster innovation. Our objectives focus on cultivating educational excellence, advancing research innovation, and enhancing educational programs to meet community needs. As we move ahead, I encourage you to seize the opportunities before you. Engage actively in your studies, pursue research, and participate in community outreach and extracurricular activities. Your involvement is vital for both your personal growth and the success of FCMS.

In closing, I extend my deepest gratitude for your dedication and passion. Together, let us uphold the highest standards of excellence and make a lasting impact on healthcare.

Welcome to the new 2025-2026 academic year!
Let us embark on this new chapter with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to excellence.

Warmest regards,

Professor Mohammed-Salleh Ardawi
