This course is concerned with a brief review of some concepts of classic physics, detailed study of waves properties and selected review of some modern physics topics which underlie in the study of modalities used in cardiovascular imaging. This course enables students to achieve the basic knowledge on application of the physics in cardiovascular diagnostic studies which lead to professional excellence.

Introduction to cardiac technology course introduces students to the basic sciences of cardiac technology, including basic concepts and terminology. It is an introductory course to diagnostic tools used in the cardiology field specially Electrocardiography, Echocardiography, cardiac catheterization laboratory and cardiac imaging modalities. At the end of this course, students should be able to identify and deal with ECG machines, Echocardiography, and some cath. equipment. Furthermore, students should be able to develop communication and interpersonal skills throughout practical sessions and group discussions

This course enables thestudent to acquire an overview of cardiovascular diseases andclinical pictures, with emphasis on its pathologicaland pathophysiological correlation that help the student to understand theunderlying mechanisms of each disease that help in medical management. 

At the end of this course,students should be able to auscultate the heart on simulator and differentiatebetween normal heart sounds and abnormal murmurs, also theycan identify the signs and symptoms of different heartdiseases. 

This course is  designed to study the chemical process on a molecular basis  and its relation to human beings. Students will be able  to distinguish between normal and abnormal metabolic pathways and perform  routine biochemical tests. They will have the ability to lead a group of  students in accomplishing an assignment and  to operate various tools and instruments commonly used in a  biochemistry lab to perform biochemical tests. Also, they will have the  confidence to challenge other people’s views and appreciate the impact of  information technology on the practice of medicine.

This course starts with a review of exponents, order of operations, factoring, simplifying polynomial, and expressions. Course topics include linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and their  applications.  Students will be able to  solve equations involving these functions using different techniques including graphical solutions. The students will solve systems of linear equations using matrices. The course will include applications such as LV mass  quantification, hemodynamics function, linear and volumetric LV measurements.

This course is  concerned with microorganisms and their effect on  human beings. Also, it enables the students to study the  structure of different organisms and their related infectious diseases. As a  part of their career, students should be aware of the  importance of infection control.

This course is concerned  with a fully detailed study of cardiovascular anatomy and a basic study of  cardiac embryology. Also, it provides a review of the study of general  anatomy, in order to allow students to simply differentiate between normal  anatomy and abnormal ones.

The course discusses the  fundamental concepts of cardiovascular physiology including the basic  characters of cardiac muscle, cardiac cycle & how the cardiovascular  system possesses different regulatory functions  to maintain sufficient cardiac output and normal arterial  blood pressure. By the end of this course, the student should be  able to understand and describe the different cardiovascular regulatory  mechanisms of cardiac output, fundamentals of ECG waves, cardiac axis, and  sinus rhythm characters. Furthermore, students should be able to develop  communication and interpersonal skills throughout practical sessions and  group discussions.

This course enables the students to learn the basics of planning and conducting research.  Students will develop the ability to compute and carry out basic statistical analysis and the ability to interpret data.  Using such knowledge, the student will be in a position to determine what represents best practice, and how to utilize information in scientific literature to support informed and sound decisions relevant to their field.

This course enables the cardiac technology students to understand many different basics pharmacological concepts including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmaco-therapeutics. The course enables the student to calculate dosages in mg/min, mcgs/min and mcgs/kg/min. The course describes the mechanism of action, indications, contraindications, and therapeutics of different medication classes that act on the cardiovascular system as well as medications that affect indirectly the cardiac patient.

This course is concerned  with the study of theory & clinical applications of different imaging  modalities used in imaging of the cardiovascular system. The student becomes  familiar with the basic physics & acquisition, diagnostic applications  and basic image interpretation with practical demonstration of these  diagnostic modalities.

It exposes the students directly to deal with Cath lab equipment,  understand principles of sterilization, cardiac catheterization Views,  Indications and contraindications, Vascular access, and left heart  catheterization techniques.

This course focuses on gaining proficiency in clinical assessment of patients and applying the therapeutic communication skills and critical decision-making skills in analyzing the data obtained through history taking and examination. Developing competency in management and care of the clinical problems identified for the client. Clinical assessment and management of patients are milestones of the professional development

This course focuses  on acquiring basic theoretical and practical concepts  of electrocardiogram, correct leads placement, review  electrical conduction of the heart and basic ECG interpretation skills.

This course enables the students to learn how to do basic Echocardiography through training on Echocardiography simulator and real Echocardiography machine through training in the Echo-lab and different hospitals.

The Echo interpretation course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Echocardiography and its applications. Participants will learn to describe normal and abnormal Echocardiography findings, recognize myocardial viability using stress ECHO, define the purpose of a TEE study, and identify intra-cardiac shunts and complex congenital cardiac malformations.

This course focuses on the role of echocardiography in assessment congenital heart diseases in pediatric and adults.

This course enables the student to pursue a theoretical and practical study of advanced adult Echocardiography, with emphasis on native and prosthetic valves structures and diseases morphology. Echo findings of different types of cardiomyopathies and pericardial diseases and other diseases. The course also enables the student to have more practical skills in handling transthoracic echocardiography, master obtaining TTE view and perform basic standard complete echo study, being familiar with echo machine and basic systolic and diastolic function assessment parameters. Furthermore, the course enables students to develop communication and interpersonal skills through practical and group discussions

This course provides fundamentals to medical ethics and critical examination of the legal and ethical concepts in health care. Explore major ethical issues confronting the medical practice and professionalism and discussions on   ethical practice in medicine, medical education, and research. Ethical discussion will focus on recognizing various patient needs, respecting the cultures and values of patients and their families, and appropriate communication based on context. Concepts relating to patient safety and therapeutic communication.

This course is concerned with the theoretical & practical new concepts of providing basic and advanced life support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in cardiac arrest and life-threating cardiac diseases. It is consistent with recent updates of American Heart Association Guidelines.

This course enables the student to pursue in-depth study of the electrocardiogram, review the normal 12 lead electrocardiogram, and demonstrate various types of arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and effect of different diseases of the heart on the ECG, principles of exercise stress test, and principles of Holter monitoring.
