Research is essential, for the clinicians, to find out which treatments work better for patients. It plays an important role in discovering new treatments and making sure that they use best existing treatments. Also, other common aims for conducting research are to: generate new hypothesis, describe risk factors, and diagnose diseases and health problems. Evidence-based medicine (EBM) aims to integrate the best available evidence, clinical expertise, and patients values in the process of clinical decision making on both an individual and population basis. As such, EBM is crucial in maintaining the quality of medical care and ensuring good clinical outcomes.
