Description

Students organized an awareness session, “Informed Consent: Your Rights, Your Decision,” for healthcare professionals. Through presentations, case discussions, and role-plays, participants learned key consent elements, including risks, benefits, alternatives, patient rights, and documentation, while addressing cultural and literacy considerations to promote patient autonomy in clinical practice.

Goal

The session aimed to educate participants on informed consent, covering its ethical,  legal, and clinical importance. Objectives included identifying key components, addressing challenges and misconceptions, demonstrating effective communication for patient understanding, and applying best practices for obtaining and documenting informed consent in diverse clinical settings.
