Nazaha Workshop ( November, 2024 )

Introduction:

Promoting values of integrity (Nazaha) and combating corruption are essential elements in building ethical healthcare professionals and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. In line with these values and Islamic teachings, Year 1 female students at Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences (FCMS), under the supervision of Dr. Maryam Almass, organized a student-led Nazaha Workshop. The event aimed to raise awareness of the concept of Nazaha in Islam and highlight the importance of transparency, accountability, and moral responsibility in both personal conduct and public service.

Goals and Objectives:

Educate students on the concept of Nazaha (integrity) in Islam.

• Raise awareness about the dangers of corruption and how to prevent it.

• Promote ethical conduct and responsibility among students and staff.

• Demonstrate how Nazaha supports community well-being and national development.

• Contribute to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030 through value-based education.

Description of learning outcomes achieved through the activity:

The workshop deepened participants' understanding of how integrity and anti-corruption principles are embedded in Islamic teachings. Students explored the real-world impact of corruption on health systems, society, and national growth. The interactive format allowed participants to reflect on personal accountability, professional ethics, and the significance of Nazaha in healthcare. The student-led presentations also enhanced leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Brief description of the activity:

- The Nazaha Workshop was led by Year 1 female students under the supervision of Dr. Maryam Almass. The session included educational presentations on Nazaha and its role in Islam, followed by discussions on the importance of combating corruption and promoting integrity in academic and professional environments. Students facilitated group activities and shared practical ideas on how Nazaha can improve societal well-being and support Vision 2030.

Staff participation in the activity:

15 faculty and administrative staff members

Student participation in the activity: 21 students (Year 1, various departments)

Total attendance : 36 participants

Participants’ Feedback :

Survey results: 4.9/5 (98%) satisfaction

Attendees appreciated the relevance of the topic and the students' active role in delivering the content. Many noted that the workshop encouraged reflection on ethical behavior and civic duty.

Conclusion:

The Nazaha Workshop was a timely and meaningful initiative that emphasized the importance of integrity in both personal and professional contexts. It strengthened the values of accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership among FCMS students. By aligning Islamic principles with national priorities, the workshop contributed to the college’s mission of preparing compassionate and morally responsible healthcare professionals committed to supporting the development of a just and transparent society., success-oriented academic environment.
