FCMS Bazar ( January, 2025 )

Introduction:

As part of Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences’ ongoing efforts to support student development beyond the classroom, Fakeeh Bazar (2) was held to encourage entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and essential life skills. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their hobbies, practice communication, and engage with peers and the broader college community in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Goals and Objectives:

• Support students’ personal interests and entrepreneurial hobbies.

• Promote teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving.

• Boost self-confidence and social interaction skills.

• Raise financial awareness and basic business planning skills.

• Provide opportunities for community collaboration and inclusion.

Description of learning outcomes achieved through the activity:

Participants developed essential soft skills including negotiation, customer interaction, and teamwork. The experience fostered a deeper understanding of planning and executing a business initiative. Students practiced responsibility and time management while learning the importance of presentation, pricing, and product marketing. The collaborative nature of the event also encouraged inclusivity and social empathy.

Targeted Audience:

All FCMS students, faculty, and staff

Brief description of the activity:

Students registered via QR code and contributed a nominal fee to secure a table for selling their handmade or curated products. In total, 23 student vendors and 3 teaching assistants participated. A wide range of items were displayed, including crafts, food, accessories, and wellness products. The event promoted inclusion, self-reliance, and community awareness.

Evaluation survey showed results of 4.9/5

The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Students appreciated the opportunity to sell their products, interact with the public, and experience running a small-scale business. Staff attendees praised the organization and purpose of the event. Many students expressed interest in participating in future bazaars.

Conclusion:

Fakeeh Bazar (2) successfully met its objectives by providing a vibrant, hands-on learning experience for students. The integration of community partners and financial education added value to the event. The activity fostered confidence, creativity, and collaboration, supporting FCMS’s mission to develop well-rounded, socially responsible healthcare professionals.
