2nd Scientific Research Workshop for DSFH (December, 2022 )

The 2nd Scientific Research Workshop, organized as part of the 1st Fakeeh Care Annual Congress, was designed to strengthen the research capacity of healthcare professionals and academic staff across various disciplines. Held on December 19th, 2022, at The Ritz-Carlton, Jeddah, the workshop provided an intensive, one-day program combining theoretical foundations with practical applications in medical and scientific research.

Led by distinguished experts from the Fakeeh Care Group, the workshop guided participants through essential stages of the research process—from developing a research proposal and defining objectives to study design, sampling, biostatistical analysis, and evidence-based practice. It also emphasized the principles of scientific writing and publication ethics, preparing attendees to contribute effectively to scholarly and clinical research.

By the end of the workshop, participants gained valuable insights into designing robust research studies, interpreting data, and applying evidence-based approaches to advance healthcare knowledge and practice.

Objectives

• Explain the key components of a scientific research proposal, includingformulation of the research aim, objectives, questions, and hypotheses.

• Differentiate between various study designs and sampling techniques applicable in medical and clinical research.

• Apply appropriate biostatistical methods for data analysis and presentation of research results.

• Develop skills in academic and scientific writing, including preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

• Recognize the principles of evidence-based medicine and their integration into clinical and research decision-making.

• Demonstrate process of publication of medical research.

• Enhance research planning and critical appraisal skills among healthcare professionals.
