Founding Day

Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences (FCMS) proudly celebrated Saudi Founding Day to commemorate the Kingdom’s deep-rooted history and cultural legacy. This national occasion marks the founding of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud over three centuries ago. The celebrations aimed to instill national values among students and highlight the Kingdom’s historical journey, cultural richness, and continued development under Vision 2030. The event reflected the college’s commitment to reinforcing national identity and civic responsibility through student engagement.

Goals and Objectives

  • Promote awareness of the historical significance of Saudi Founding Day.
  • Foster pride in Saudi Arabia’s heritage and leadership legacy.
  • Strengthen national identity and student connection to Saudi values.
  • Engage students in cultural expression and community solidarity.
  • Highlight the role of healthcare and education in national development.

Description of learning outcomes achieved through the activity

Students gained a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural foundations of the Saudi state. Through interactive and artistic participation, they developed a stronger sense of national identity and civic engagement. The educational lectures linked heritage with modern aspirations, encouraging students to see themselves as contributors to Vision 2030. Participation also enhanced teamwork, organizational, and communication skills through collaborative event planning and volunteering.

Venue: Building 3 Gym Hall 6th floor, ground floor, Fakeeh College Campus – various locations

Students, staff, faculty members, and hospital visitors

Brief description of the activity:

The celebration lasted five days and included a wide range of events:

  • Art & Volunteer Work: Students showcased creative work (painting, poetry, photography, videos) reflecting Founding Day themes. The campus was decorated with flags, traditional banners, and historical imagery. Students wore traditional attire, distributed gifts, and visited hospital patients.
  • Academic Engagement: Lectures across departments included brief introductions on Founding Day, discussing leadership, identity, and the Kingdom’s evolution.
  • Live Cultural Activities: Traditional fashion displays, local food stalls, old games, and decor recreated Saudi heritage.
  • Final Ceremonies: Poetry performances, an art exhibit, and recognition of top participants closed the celebrations.

The event engaged over 570 attendees, including students, faculty, and administrative staff.

Conclusion

The 2025 Founding Day celebration at FCMS was a rich and meaningful experience that successfully blended history, culture, and education. It nurtured national identity and social responsibility among students while promoting creativity and community outreach. The event remains a cornerstone of FCMS’s commitment to holistic student development and national pride.
