Quality and Accreditation Unit

The Quality and Accreditation Unit (QAU) at Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences was established in 2010 with the aim of recommending measures to enhance the quality of academic programs at FCMS.

The QAU is in charge of monitoring the implementation of quality standards based on Ministry of Education guidelines, and Education Evaluation Commission-Sector of Evaluation & Academic Accreditation (EEC-SEAA) and other Governing bodies that concerns Quality and accreditation in the higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia.

The main responsibility of the QAU includes a comprehensive monitoring of activities at FCMS leading in establishing its internal quality assurance system that contributes in achieving high quality teaching and learning process. The institution’s quality assurance system is fully integrated into planning and development strategies in a defined cycle of plan, implement, assessment and review.

Responsibilities of QAU:

  1. Advises on institution-wide priorities and strategies for quality improvement.
  2. Assist academic and administrative units in the development of quality improvement strategies.
  3. Establishes and monitor self-assessment processes and reporting requirements.
  4. Specifies criteria for selection and formats for indicators, benchmarks, and objectives.
  5. Prepares standard forms for matters such as student and graduate surveys and others as needed.
  6. Advises  on  operational  procedures  for  the  planning  and  implementation  of  quality processes.
  7. Maintains systematic collections of reports on performance, including data on indicators and benchmarks that will be required for analysis and reporting on trends in performance and changes in the environment within which the institution is operating.
  8. Coordinates  and  lead  the  preparation  of  self- studies  at Institutional and Program levels for  consideration  within  the institution and for use by external reviews.
