The Quality and Accreditation Unit (QAU) at Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences was established in 2010 with the aim of recommending measures to enhance the quality of academic programs at FCMS.
The QAU is in charge of monitoring the implementations of quality standards based on Ministry of Education guidelines, and National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment (NCAAA) and other Governing bodies that concerns Quality and accreditation in the higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia.
The main responsibility of the QAU includes comprehensive monitoring of activities at FCMS leading in establishing its internal quality system that contributes in achieving high quality teaching and learning process.
In addition, the QAU is facilitating and monitoring the accreditation process at FCMS. The institution’s quality assurance system is fully integrated into planning and development strategies in a defined cycle of plan, implement, assessment and review. The Quality Assurance Unit is dedicated to enhanc the quality of all aspects of the work of the College and to support building the identity of the college on a global level.
To be a successful quality assurance organization that is relied upon by the college to maintain and develop the quality of its academic excellence, to achieve the requirements of National Commission for Accreditation &Assessment and be approved by the relevant scientific and professional world.
- Develop comprehensive strategies for the college to achieve quality assurance.
- Provide assistance and support to academic departments and administrative units at the college in order to complete plans for improving quality.
- Prepare reports on the developments in quality assurance.
- The establishment of a privileged relationship with the similar settings within the kingdom.
- Identify areas for performance comparisons with comparable institutions selected to provide appropriate benchmarks for significant activities.
- The self review process incorporates feedback from individuals external to the institution in a planned program of reviews.
- Develop the quality assurance system to reach international standard.
Quality assurance in the College is a dynamic and not a static process, and is closely linked with other internal processes. Responsibility for aspects of these processes is delegated to series of different committees at the College.
A quality committee is established with membership from all major academic and administrative units to work with the quality center in planning and carrying out responsibilities for quality assurance.
The quality Assurance unit in Dr. Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing & Medical Sciences is to ensure that the College demonstrates institutional effectiveness by focusing quality principles in all what we do, as demonstrated by measurable outcomes. It is within this context that the unit has identified four (4) strategic initiatives, along with complementary actions, that position the institution for the future.
Strategic Initiative 1:
Dr. Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing & Medical Sciences will place innovative learning opportunities, academic excellence, and student success at the forefront of all we do.
Conduct a formal orientation program for the students and staff to make them familiarize with the academic and administrative rules and regulations.
Prepare a clear plan for academic counseling for students starting from coming semester and follow up for proper implementation.
Update and implement a comprehensive Professional Development Plan that fosters an environment where personal and professional learning by all employees is encouraged and valued.
Re-in force and follow-up the mechanisms to improve the quality of teaching process by peer evaluation and other review process.
Strategic Initiative 2:
Dr. Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing & Medical Sciences will focus on growth, enhance its learning facilities and continue to broaden its course and program options.
Prepare program report based on previous two semester course reports.
Program review to enhance the learning outcomes based on recommendation from program report.
Make arrangements for field experience in other health care settings.
Encourage the use of technology in and beyond the classroom by improving and expanding opportunities for professional development and enriching instructional delivery methods.
Encourage the use of e-library and make it easily accessible to the members of the college.
Increase the efforts to expand the level of English language so that students are better prepared to study in a higher education setting.
Continue efforts to introduce new courses, programs, and delivery formats in support of the actions outlined in the Academic Plan.
Prioritize the anticipated facility needs of new academic programs in the development of college.
Strategic Initiative 3:
Dr. Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing & Medical Sciences will develop and allocate human and technological resources to ensure academic excellence.
Allocate and re-distribute the duties and responsibilities based on approved job descriptions.
Arrange a support system to advise and help on the use of advanced technology.
Developing and completing administrative policy and procedure manual as need arise.
Complete college website with specific privileges to students and staff.
Update a system of internal rules and regulations and work procedures.
Improve the learning environment and technological infrastructure of the College.
Strategic Initiative 4:
Dr. Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing & Medical Sciences has to explore new partnerships with similar educational institutions within the kingdom and abroad.
Continue process of academic accreditation with National Commission for Academic Accreditation &Assessment (NCAAA).
Establish formal relationship with similar institutions for the purpose of benchmarking our academic performance.
Formulate clear procedure to follow up the college graduates by formulating Alumni.

Dr. Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing & Medical Sciences is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.
- Academic Accreditation is the process of external evaluation of quality that are used by educational institutions, in order to achieve quality assurance and improve quality. The National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment(NCAAA) has been established by the higher Council of Education in Saudi Arabia with responsibility to establish standards and accredit institutions and programs in post secondary education.
Students, employers, parents and members of the community should be able to have complete confidence that what have been learned by the students is equivalent to international standards so that these qualification should be accepted without any question anywhere in the world.
Dr.Soliman Fakeeh College of Nursing and Medical Sciences is working on to achieve NCAAA accreditation in the near future.
