Public Relation

The Public Relations Department has a pivotal role within the college, it is the first port of call for contacts and visitors; as such it takes the main role of implementing and announcing to the outside world the number of various activities developed by the college’s faculties, and it aims to preserve the image of the College and to keep the mission of the college. It is the communication link between the College and its surrounding community. It keeps contact with a number of different groups by various avenues including media, internet, mailing lists, publications, events management, seminars, workshops, curricula and non curriculum activities.

The Public Relations Department has the overall responsibility of projecting a positive image of the College to the public domain. It also aims to preserve and maintain a respectable reputation for the college while providing information for prospective students, and the public in general. It also organizes visits and accompanies guests.

Objectives:

The Public Relations Department has a very important role within the College as it acts as a mediator between it and the public. The role of the department can be summarized by the following points:

  • Building a strong and favorable reputation for the College.
  • Enhancing students' affiliation with and pride towards their College.
  • Spreading support and trust for the College among the public.
  • Organizing media coverage and publicity for specific College topics.
  • Effective handling of a number of situations that influence the public.
  • Conveying to the College the public's concerns, expectations and opinions in order for the College implement them in their core decision making.
  • Creating and increasing awareness of the College's ongoing events, activities and facilities.

The Department focuses on communication and influencing the community in several ways like using Media such as newspapers, announcements, advertisements and disseminating information about upcoming  events .

Tasks:

The following are just some of the activities that the Public Relations Department carries out:

  • Ibdaat Newsletter, Interviews, reports, feature articles, along with general information.
  • Designing and publishing leaflets and booklets about the University.
  • Designing and drafting information for the website
  • Point of contact for e-mails coming in and out of the College.
  • To coordinate and to ensure the smooth running of main events/programs organized by the College.
